Agricultural sheds are just so interesting, quirky. The artists problem is how much detail and how to portray, suggestive and not too accurate, where to draw the line, excuse the pun. I’m happy with the balance here.
Painting
Tweedmouth Netsmen
Next in the Scottish life series, silhouetted salmon netsmen working the mouth of the river Tweed.
SOLD
Glen Affric
Sunshine and showers approach the glen from Kintail.
Highland Ponies
These girls were having a restful late summer afternoon in Glen Ure as the rain cleared.
SOLD
Cononish Bothy
The light oh the light, Ben Lui appearing as the rain clouds clear, the bothy is artistic licence, but not out of place.
SOLD
Tullibardine Distillery
So another Scottish life image, striking colours and forms of the stills and atmospherics of the process. End product not bad either. (The whisky that is).
Burn Supper
I fancied a change from landscapes and wanted to paint Scottish life. Burns night was only a few days away, no better place to start.
Chanonry Point
Popular spot near Fortrose on the Blackisle for watching dolphins. I was taken by the silhouette against misty winter light
Cairngorms
Friends asked me to paint the view from a parents house of the Cairngorms, so a panorama developed with some late afternoon winter sunlight.
Original Sold
Sgur na Lapaich
Another from Glen Strathfarra, perhaps slightly cliched but I couldn’t resist the colour and lighting looking north west toward the head of the glen.
